Colin began his insurance career in 1963 as a junior clerk in a binding authority department at CE Heath. He joined Swann & Everett as a junior broker in 1966 and moved to Alexander Howden the following year. At Alexander Howden he was promoted through various levels of directorship until 1979 when he was appointed Chief Executive of the newly formed North American division and full Director of Howden's main broking board. He moved to JH Minet for a year as Executive Director responsible for the Casualty department and then joined Besso in 1985.

He is currently Deputy Chairman of Besso Limited and Chief Executive of Besso Insurance Group Limited. Colin is also on the Board of Directors of the London Chamber of Commerce, is a Director of XN Holdings Inc., a US based MGA and is Non-Executive Chairman of CBC UK Limited.

Chris began his career at Lloyd's in 1967 working for the Vesty's at Robert Barrow then moving to Rose Thompson Young in 1969 and being merged into Wigham's in 1972 and again into Poland's in 1975. He gained Directorships of three Wigham Poland Group Companies and is a founding partner of CBC. A part of almost every day of his working life has been spent broking at Lloyd's and he has served on a number of Lloyd's Working Parties and Committees.

Jerome is Head of Research at Ashmore Investment Management and a member of its investment committee. Previously, he was Head of Markets Research for ANZ Investment Bank with global responsibility for fixed-income and foreign exchange research and senior strategic planning officer at the Inter-American Development Bank. Dr. Booth has been a lecturer in economics at Christ Church, Oxford, and worked in Her Majesty’s Department of Trade with responsibility for multilateral development banks.

He holds four degrees, including a doctorate in economics from Oxford University and is a Governor of Anglia Ruskin University. He is a keen supporter of the arts and is Chairman of the Fitzwilliam Museum Development Trust and is on the board of the Britten Sinfonia.

Rob runs the Professional Liabilities Division within CBC, working on behalf of direct clients and sub brokers on a diverse range of specialist placements, many of which he has looked after for a good number of years. He was appointed to the CBC Board in 2011. Rob has been in the insurance industry since 1985. He has always worked in the Professional Liability sector and before joining CBC in 2006, was a Senior Partner at Glencairn Limited, with overall responsibility for the Professional Risks Division. Prior to this he was a board Director of Andrew Wallas & Marsh Limited, a specialist Lloyd’s Broker.

Rob enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and is a keen follower of a number of different sports.

Martyn runs the Personal Department at CBC, and was appointed to the Board of Directors in November 2010. He also manages a number of delegated binding authorities for CBC and producing brokers/partners placed with Lloyd’s and London Market Companies. Martyn’s main area of responsibility is UK and overseas High Net Worth Household, dealing with producing brokers and direct clients.

Before joining CBC Martyn was a High Net Worth Underwriter at Hiscox. Martyn started his insurance career in 1989, working in the North American Property Division within C. E. Heath, then worked in insolvency insurance, high-risk commercial property insurance and Reinsurance before joining Hiscox.

Martyn loves to spend time with his family, is passionate about motor racing, and runs the men’s group at his local Baptist Church.

Claire heads up the Binding Authority Division for CBC and was appointed to the Board in December 2011. Her Division is responsible for the administration of all of CBC's own and Third Party Binding Authorities including claims.

Claire has worked in the Lloyd’s market for over 23 years, and joined CBC in 1999 as claims manager. She started her Lloyd’s career as a Reinsurance claims broker for C T Bowring and then joined the Lloyd’s Claims Office as a Senior Supervisor, dealing predominantly with Household business.

She loves to Ski and Snowboard in the Alps every winter and enjoys spending summers in Whitstable, Kent with her husband and daughter.

Alan commenced working in the insurance industry in 1972 at Bowrings in the UK Fire & Accident team and left in 1981 to join Wigham Poland as a senior account executive and divisional manager. He worked on a variety of large client accounts including Extended Warranty programmes.

Alan joined CBC in 1985 and was appointed to the board in 1995 with responsibility for Lloyd's, IBRC and GISC compliance and related matters and became compliance officer for the Besso Group, appointed to the board in January 2005 when the FSA assumed regulatory responsibility for the insurance sector.
